Hello again!
This weekend is the sale at Restoration Emporium. But I am stuck at home with a sore throat and a sick baby. It’s killing me to not be there… So I decided I would show you one of the pieces I just finished for the sale.
This was a piece I picked up at a garage sale.
I decided to do something a little different then I normally do.. So I purchased some Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Ironstone. I wanted the paint to chip on this piece so I felt that milk paint would be the right choice. After some paint & wrestling with some chicken wire, here she is!:
Such a fresh and clean look- while still shabby & chippy. Love it!
Thanks for stopping by!

This is beautiful! Did you do any sanding or priming first?
Thank you!
No ma’am.. That’s the beauty of milk paint! It adheres to almost anything- and if for some reason it doesn’t adhere you can use miss mustard seeds bonding agent.
Thanks for stopping by!
Absolutely beautiful! I am dying to get my hands on some milk paint 🙂 how much milk paint did it take to finish this piece?
Thank you Hillary!
With my box of Ironstone Milk Paint I was able to complete two coats on this hutch and two coats on a medium sized cabinets. I am still experimenting with the consistancy and mixing of the paint. I think if mixed correctly I could have gotten further with the paint. Thanks for stopping by!

Traci, nice job and just so you know Ironstone is very hot right now. I’m with Redposie a retailer for the Miss Mustard Seed Milk and we can’t seem to keep it in stock lately everybody wants Ironstone. Ironstone just goes with any decor.
Thank you Mike!
I have now completed two projects with Ironstone & one with Lucketts Green.. Miss Mustard Seed knows her colors! So far I am blown away. Thanks for stopping by!

love the contrast between the original stain & white….wonderful job….
Thank you Michelle!
I had planned on painting the inside of the hutch as well- but once i finished the outside I fell in love with the contrast like you! Happy accident 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Looks amazing! I just took a class with her milk paint, wondering did you use the bonding agent? I have a set of chairs but I’m not certain how much chipping I want…
And I will be happily following you!
I actually have not used her bonding agent yet. I have used her Milk Paint on three projects so far and have not seemed to need it! I will be posting a small cabinet soon..Keep an eye out and see if you like the amount of chipping it has.

I love this! I especially like the chicken wire replacing the usual glass panes. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Patti
Absolutley gorgeous! I love that you didn’t paint the inside. The contrast is great!

This turned out absolutely beautiful! I’m sorry to hear you’re home sick. Boo! 😦 Get better soon!
Traci, you are very talented. Keep up the great work. Just beautiful!
WOW!! It’s fabulous. I don’t have a vehicle that can transport such a large piece, nor a good place to work on it. The garage would be my best choice but it’s pretty cold here right now (Missouri). I’m still learning. I’ve done a table a chair and painted the base of my dining room table. It’s fun but a lot of work too… Your project is so beautiful!!
Thank you Mary!
I know what you mean about it being cold- I actually painted this in my living room. I live in Kansas!
Thanks for stopping by.
